5 Reasons to Consider a Career as a Professional Driver

  • Short training cycle: So you can get to work fast! Our average student completes their training program in 6-8 weeks. Exact timeframe will depend on the number of hours in your program, experience level, and individual scheduling availability. By investing just a few hours a week at Allstate your training can be complete in roughly 2 months instead of 2 years and you can quickly transition to your new career as a professional driver.
  • Immediate entry level job opportunities - The transportation industry is the backbone of America moving 10B+ tons of freight every year and is rapidly growing. The demand for safe and reliable entry level drivers is high with driver’s salaries seeing unprecedented jumps in recent years.
  • Competitive pay - It’s a driver’s market with new drivers making on average $62K* per year and local, regional, and over-the-road companies offering competitive mileage or hourly pay, benefit packages including medical, dental, life insurance and 401K, paid time off, and increased or daily home time for inexperienced and veteran CDL drivers. (*www.indeed.com/salaries/entry-level-truck-driver-salaries)
  • Up to 100% tuition reimbursement - Many over-the-road and some local companies have expanded their salary packages to include hiring incentives like tuition reimbursement, hire-on bonuses, longevity bonuses, employee stock options, and special incentives for veterans.
  • Pre-hire opportunities - Over-the-road carriers need you! In addition to our huge Spring and Fall Career Fairs, routinely attended by 25+ CDL B, CDL A, passenger bus, and forklift employers, Job Development schedules recruiter presentations from local companies and over-the-road carriers several times a month. You can apply while still in training and receive offers so you can get straight to work when you finish your program.
You don't have to wait for more than a month for a new session to start. Our rolling admissions process allows you to apply at any time of the year. What's more? You can choose your suitable time and date with our flexible scheduling option. Contact us today!

We have new classes starting every Monday with training sessions open seven days a week including nights and weekends. Scheduling is flexible and we will work with you to accommodate your personal schedule.

What Sets Allstate Commercial Driver Training School Apart?

Private CDL Class A, Class B, and Passenger Bus training in two convenient locations in Seymour and Meriden with small group forklift training at our 4K square foot mock warehouse in Seymour! We offer rolling admission with classes starting every week so you will never have to wait for a start date months out and at the end of your program you will test at the site you trained on the equipment you are familiar with.

Why 1-on-1 training is better than group training?
  • One-to-one student instructor ratio. You will be the only student being taught during your session
  • No audience or standing around all day in a group waiting to take turns on a truck.
  • You can train in as little as 1.5 hours a day
Flexible scheduling
Private lessons allow Allstate Commercial Driver Training School the flexibility to accommodate your availability 7 days a week, on days, evening, and weekends.
We write a new schedule every week and on Fridays, we send your customized schedule by email so you can plan your week knowing exactly when you have class.

Each week we work with students who have full-time or part-time jobs, work 2nd or 3rd shift, have limitations due to childcare, or use public transportation. Some of our students may only be available on Wednesdays, Sundays, or even have a schedule that changes every week. With private lessons, our scheduling department can work with you to maximize the times and days you are open.

You can be trained on a manual or automatic transmission to operate a CDL Class A, CDL Class B, or Passenger Bus. We offer on-site DMV testing, classes to help you study and obtain your permit, and we work with programs like WIOA, Workers Compensation, Post 911, GI Bill, and other assistance programs.
